Coimbatore : As a part of Coimbatore Vizha 2019, TIE Coimbatore today honored 20 eminent personalities who have been instrumental in building the City.
Speaking at the event, Hemalatha Annamalai, President, TIE Coimbatore evoked the entrepreneurial spirit of the City and the monumental contributions of personalities who helped build the City. “Coimbatore has been and is a city which has given life to those who landed here. The self-made city has created and still creating entrepreneurs in large numbers”.
Remembering and lauding the past visionaries who created a legacy Coimbatore, Vanitha Mohan, Chairperson of Siruthuli stated Entrepreneurship is in the DNA of Coimbatore. Perhaps, there is no city in the country which can match the spirit of Kovai. The spirit of industrial community which comes together for the development of the City is a notable character of this City".
Rajesh Govindarajalu, Historian from the City relived the memories of the great personalities who contributed to the upliftment and charisma of Coimbatore.
As part of the event, posters depicting the history of the 20 visionaries were showcased through the stretch of Race Course area.
Dipendar Singh, Chairperson Yi Coimbatore, N. Manickam of Sakthi groups and other industrialists were present at the event.
